I pause, looking forward into the darkness. “Oh, hello.” I speak out, my voice swallowed quickly by the blackness.
A face looms forward. It is pale, with dark, sunken eyes and a mouth dripping with black ink. “Sssssssso, why have you pictured me?” It asks. “Yyyyou know it’ssssss not accccccurate.” Paranoia hisses, a long tongue licking up the side of its face and digging into its eyes as it retreats back into the darkness.
“I know.” I say to the darkness. “Whenever I give you form, you change. Whenever I know where you are, you move. Whenever I hide, you find me.” I sigh. “This is merely for our… entertainment, I suppose.”
